Effective January 1, 2011, computers, monitors, and TVs are banned from disposal in West Virginia Landfills.

Brooke County residents are able to recycle computers, monitors, and TVs at the Brooke County Recycling Center in Beech Bottom, WV, (at the old Windsor Coal Property) M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Grant Information

Grant funding is possible to obtain for some types of recycling programs.  From 1992 to 2011, the BCSWA has successfully been awarded several grants that have assisted with costs associated with operating the Brooke County Recycling Program.

On August 25, 2011, the BCSWA was awarded a $10,000.00 FY 2012 Solid Waste Management Board Grant for Recycling Truck Maintenance and Transportation of Recyclables.

On September 22, 2011 the BCSWA was awarded a $11,840.00 FY 2102 West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection  REAP Covered Electronic Devices Recycling Grant for Advertisement and Labor Wages for the On-going Covered Electronic Device (CED) Collection Program.
